End-grain Butcher Block

Another fun commission making use of reclaimed native Rimu.
A chunky, durable Rimu end-grain butcher block featuring a refined walnut inlay and a deep juice groove. Designed to protect knives and resist wear, end-grain cutting boards, while more expensive and time-consuming to make, offer exceptional strength and longevity and are well worth the investment! The contrasting Black Walnut inlay was used to fill existing defects in the reclaimed Rimu floorboards used for the Butcher Block and provided an opportunity to add some character and individuality to the piece.
